Text Box: LAST UPDATE: 15th February 2008 Text Box: About : I became interested in the White Swiss Shepherds in the early 90’s but it wasn't until 2005 that I managed to acquire my first white shepherd dog. Having a small child and several other pets I needed a dog that was going to fit in and be part of our existing family and the White Shepherd breed was what we were looking for. After research and educating myself about the White Shepherd, I was so taken with it's fantastic qualities and fight to be accepted that I wanted to be a positive force in the promotion and continuation of this fabulous breed here in AUSTRALIA. Having grown up and spending most of my youth years living a rural lifestyle I had always been surrounded by various animals... horses, goats, chickens, turkeys, camels, fish, rabbits, birds and many different dog breeds.... Becoming a breeder was not a hard decision but a natural progression for me. I was born with a natural love and respect for animals and a need to help all strays and injured ones that I came across! My mother always thought I would end up being a veterinarian. Too this day I still help out the stray and injured, although I didn’t end up being a vet. Crystal gate kennels was first set up in early 2005 when the first of our foundations dogs arrived to live with us. We are a small Kennel situated on a small parcel of acreage located at Lewiston, near the Barossa Valley in South Australia.  Our dogs are not kept in kennels as such, but as family members and are very much loved.  We find our dogs to be very loyal and loving.  Crystal Gates breeding programme aims to breed TOP quality pedigree White Shepherd dogs of good health and outstanding temperament.  Our dogs are of EXCELLENT local and CHAMPION international blood lines.
